SAINT SEIYA

"In a time of darkness, the Saints of Athena shall rise to protect the Earth."

BIG NEWS!!!
ADV FILMS RELEASE SAINT SEIYA ON DVD!!!!

.......
ADV FILMS has released the first 9 episodes of the first season of
Saint Seiya on
DVD. They feature the original animation, dialogue in English AND the original Japan-
ese versions of each. They also feature English subtitles translated from the Japanese
version, and it's interesting to compare the English dialogue with the translations.

......I was rather nervous when I saw the "DIC" logo on the package, afraid that it was
going to be a recording of Knights of the Zodiac, which DIC produces. As the weeks
have gone on, the show's quality CONTINUES to deteriorate. Fortunately, this is NOT
K.O.T.Z., but a truly FAITHFUL translation. I can't say enough good things about it.

......Make sure you pick them up as soon as you can. There is also another version of
Vol. 1 that comes in a gift box that will contain the next four volumes.

......NOTE: Volume Two actually features DRAGON on the cover art, as
opposed to ANDROMEDA. Just an FYI so you don't think you missed one!

SEIYA MANGA FINALLY ARRIVES!

Well, the wait is over. After almost 20
years, the original Manga (Japanese Comic)
of Saint Seiya has been translated into
English. You shouldn't get too nervous
about the Knights of the Zodiac title on the
book. I'm HOPING it's there to simply iden-
tify it to those who have only recently
discovered the series.

The reason I'm not too worried about
the comic, is that it's being published by
VIZ Comics, who have so expertly tran-
slated so many Manga over their 20 year
history. The cover also clearly names
Shonen Jump, which was the original pub-
lisher of Saint Seiya in Japan in the 1980's.
I also happen to have several of the original
comic, and the srt is very recognizable
to me.

The Manga's first volume is due out the
first week of January, 2004.

Volume two debuts in March.
